Cyprus, a tourists perspective

In July 2000 I went to Nicosia Cyprus to give some lighting training to some Cy.B.C. cameramen. It was hot. Very hot. The noon temperature hit 45 deg. C most days I was there, the power distribution system began to break down in Nicosia because of the many air conditioning units that people were buying. Restaurants had no power or light in the old part of the city for several days.
Elsewhere on this site is an article that I wrote for the STLD magazine about an earlier trip to Nicosia in the April of that year.
In December 2005, I returned as a working trainer. In TV lighting for Sigma TV, which at the time of writing is the number one broadcaster in Cyprus in terms of viewers. So I was told! Read about Nicosia and how it has changed by clicking here.

I would like to thank you for the amazing pictures/ story telling you give at some of the places you have visited. I found your site by mistake as I was searching for pictures of Cyprus to show to my wife (I am Cypriot citizen living in Baltimore, US married to an American citizen). I wanted to show her my country and nothing gives a better description than your pictures. Especially the ones you took during the summer. You have managed to capture the essence of Nicosia. As for some other places, I have visited some of them as well, and even though I am not an expert in the matter I should say that indeed you did an amazing job. Keep up the good work.
