| Like many people, I have an ongoing love affair with France. Many of our
family holidays have been taken there over the years, and it has been an
opportunity to meet many interesting people, both locals, and other like minded
tourists. On one such occasion, I met Margaret, a retired English teacher who
had chosen a delightful corner of Languedoc for her home. Cazelles, is a tiny
hamlet with a population of perhaps 30 or 40 people, approximately 40 kilometres
inland from Narbonne on the Mediterranean Sea.
On several occasions I have taken advantage of Ryanair's cheap flights from
London (Stansted) to Carcassonne, which is less than an hours drive from
Cazelles. My hobbies being cycling and photography, I am able to combine the two
with excellent cooking and conversation with mine hostess!
Following are pictures of two of those holidays. Many thanks are due to
Margaret for making such holidays possible.
In September 2002, I arrived in Cazelles by bike rather than by plane. My son
and I had cycled the 600 miles from the port of St. Malo in the name of charity.
