One of my trips through mid Wales was on a
cold and misty morning. This was just a few miles from the now redundant
Transfynydd nuclear power station. |
 |
Same journey, a little further south, just
off the B4518 north of Llanidloes. Its a case of right place, right time.
The subtly changing light and mist made for a memorable half hour. |

looking south on that cold winter morning.

same area, in the heart of winter,
Staylittle pass which takes you over to Llanidloes via
Llyn Clywedog
There is a tourist route which meanders
around the western edges of the reservoir
(oops, given part of the game away!)
Well worth taking... |

I often drive by Llyn Clyweddog at all times of the year.
It is almost exactly half way between my home and the North Wales coast. |
 |
The lakes (reservoirs for the English midlands I believe)
are always interesting with changes of the light and the weather. |
| There is quite a lot of history to Lyn Clywedog. I took
the lazy way and photographed the info boards on site:
There is also the remains of a lead mine called Bryntail.

This picture was taken at a junction of two minor roads
after a steep climb northwards towards Lake Bala from Dinas Mayddwy.
Cyclists, a cross (?) and some sheep. |
 |
As a cyclist myself, I was full of admiration for what
they had just achieved. Didn't see any evidence of rock falls though. |
