| The classic view of Manhattan,
seen here from the Staten Island Ferry (complete with a bit of boat superstructure) but minus the twin towers of the World Trade centre which
would have been towards the left of this frame. |
 |
| Looking east from the top of the Empire State building on one cool
June morning in 2002. It's the first of three panoramas that I took from
there. |
 |
|
Now, look to the south, towards lower
Manhattan across Greenwich Village and to the site that was the World
Trade centre. |
 |
|
And by turning around to look north,
Central park in the distance and New Jersey on the far left. |
 |
This is the
granddaddy of all panoramics. I've joined these three together to give a
pretty impressive, if not entirely accurate 270 degree view. It's a biggish
file, (about 300 Kbytes) but worth downloading. Well, I would say that
wouldn't I? If
you have Broadband (or are very patient) you might like to download a
bigger file (700K ish) by clicking here. |

| Somewhat further south now to Florida. This
originated on film, about five pics. They were taken from the balcony of a
luxurious 'Condo' belonging to friends in St. Petersburg on Florida's west
coast where we stayed on vacation in 1999. The sunsets here are as
dramatic as any I have seen anywhere. A finger of land separated us from
the Gulf of Mexico with its wonderful beaches, warm seas - and over
zealous cops who book you for overstaying your parking meter by minutes. I
know, I've been done twice! |
 |
| This pretty lake is in New England just off,
I think, the Kencamagus highway. |
 |
| The city of Boston Mass. has some great open
spaces. This is downtown seen from the public garden. Some more pictures of
Boston here. |
 |
| Across to Arizona, now for some panoramic
shots of the Petrified Forest. Just off the I 40 and well worth an hour or
three. This is a 180 degree shot. |
 |
| The colourful wilderness of a desert. |
 |
| River almost gone, and this is just
Springtime. More non panoramic shots of Arizona here. |
