I am not particularly fussed on visiting farms at
close quarters, but we took up this offer of a mini tour around a local
ferme.
I have avoided veal for many years because of the
cruel conditions in which the young animals were raised. The farmer here
showed us the clean and unstressed conditions in which the beasts were
raised.
I have to say this one looks very
unstressed to me.
His son clearly gets on well with this bull.
Later, we saw the ducks returning indoors after a
days free range grazing. It was a comical and yet dignified procession
led by the geese.
Finally, there is a tasting of the Pate and terrine
accompanied by a desert wine which is the appropriate tipple.
The week had flown by and it was time
for us to fly too.
Back in Toulouse, we await our flight with Easyjet
(no complaints) in view of one of the bulbous transport planes used for
ferrying parts of Airbus planes around the E.U.
