Autumn approacheth

Another day and I take a pre breakfast stroll down the lane to see what I would call autumn mist, even though we are only just in September. Yep, that's mist down in the steep sided valleys all right, burnt off later by the sun.

Here the Canards are let out to feed after a night indoors away from the local foxes.

Yes, we're talking future Pate and terrine here.

Nearby, a donkey vies for attention. Or maybe he just wants breakfast too.

Sadly, It's no longer easy to see old painted wall advertisements like this in France.

I guess they have just faded away.

This one is for Dubonnet.

In the nearby market of Najac, there is nothing faded about this display. Bright colours and a cheerful atmosphere prevails.

Emma joins us for a bit of shopping.

As Barbara says, there's no incentive to grow your own vegetables when someone else is happy to do it for you...

Time for a wee drink of some nice strong coffee methinks...

...alongside a beautiful vintage Peugeot.

After coffee, we decide to visit the castle. It's a long walk down the high street....and then up.

Someone's doing a nice line in door knockers.

A lady watches from above.

The view down from the castle ramparts.
