The forecast was good, so we decided to climb pen y
Fan once more after the previous weeks disastrous weather. Jean and I
got up quite early and arrived at the car park at 0950.
The mist (clouds) were gradually lifting. The
temperature was just right so off we went.
Cobwebs were lined with dew.
and the tiny streams rushed across our
path on the way to the reservoirs that provide Cardiff with its drinking
water.
On the ascent, not many people. On our descent some
two hours later, I counted over 100 people on the way up.
Clouds are still teasing the nearby hillsides.
There are already people on the top of
Corn Dhu, the first, visible peak.
The mist adds to the atmosphere.
The end is nigh...
looking down into the next valley.
At this point a week ago, we had to turn back because
of the atrocious conditions.
Jean was very pleased to have made the climb in 65
minutes.
