A couple of miles south of Cowbridge, on
the St Athan road, there is a small lay by where you can leave your car
and walk across the fields to Beaupré Castle standing in splendid isolation.
It has been a ruin for many years, but
still has plenty of interest in the remains.
This plaque tells us that Richard Basset
rebuilt it in the 16th century. (suggesting that it had been here in some
form before that date).
