| .....and then Michael Baker
was born
When I was about four years old, my mother
and my (Polish) step father moved to Cottontree to convert what had been
the Post office into a Fish and Chip shop. The Post Office, run by Mr. Lee
moved over the road into the more modern building opposite.

Oh dear, this was me at the age of about 9
months. 1945 that would be. |

Michael with a hat on, and an idiotic look on
my face. |

I was just four years old when this picture
was taken in the Zion Independent Methodist Church in Trawden on one of
their regular 'At Home' evenings when the community used to come and have
live musical and choral entertainment. My Aunt Muriel is by the
organ, she played the organ at the chapel until her eighties. |

Not too long afterwards, this
pic was taken of the three of us. Rather sweet, n'est pas? |

Taken in a London park, Stefan
Kozak, mum and Stanley. Lena Kozak taking the photo. |

In Colne, this time, just
opposite the primary school that I attended for 7 years. |
