The Conway Valley

...which stretches south from Llandudno toward Betwys y Coed. A fertile and pretty valley. First, Conway itself.

Conway town, (Conwy in Welsh) is a really interesting town with much for the tourists to see. The statue of Llewellyn stands ever so proudly in the square.

Plenty of eating options in the town

Including an award winning butchers, Edwards, well know by many (including us) for its delicious meat.

Mr Pickwick, I presume? The building on the right is the oldest in Conway dating back to the 13th century and now run by the National Trust.

One of the rooms inside

A few paces away is the marina with great views across the estuary. Nearby is Britain's smallest house.

Here t'is! On a bright April day in 2007. The walls, the walls, One can walk almost all the way round the town.
This blossom next to the car park. We start our walk around the walls.

Deganwy's new 5 star hotel can be seen across the estuary.
From it's sheltered harbour, you can see across to Deganwy and the Great Orme. Then there is the impressive Castle. It's a massive edifice with commanding views from the top of the walls.
The walls are nearly intact throughout their length around this ancient town.

Can anyone help with this request?
I was just sent this page http://www.bakerlite.co.uk/conway_valley.htm because of a message signed by Jenny Wize and her partner Megan. I have been searching for anything that might help me find out about Jenny and her partner Paula. I've known Jenny for about 8 years and Paula for several. I haven't hear from her since April 28th. Megan and I were friends too but I haven't heard from her in almost a year when she moved out. Jenny lives in Rhuddlan near the castle and is a retired nurse. She retired after her diagnosis of cancer in Febuary. Her email is [supplied]. Her birthday is April 20th. She accepted Paula's proposal to become life partners in March. I am very worried about them. I do not know if they have moved, if they have gone on an extended holiday, or if the worst has happened and Paula no longer wishes to talk. I am praying they're on Holiday.

Do you know my friends? If so could you please tell me how they are? I love and miss them both very much and not knowing is awful.

I think the town of Conway is truly fantastic and your web page is very good,

While in the town i visited the Clemance Restaurant this too is a blast from the past,   I believe it is one of the last restaurants that you get real tea in,  (loose leaf tea)

And it taste's so much better and the food is very good as well, Plus very pleasant and friendly staff, how about a picture of it on your fantastic Web page as i recommend Conway to all my friends as a place one must visit if in North Wales.

Thanks again for your informative site

Can anyone help Nina who has asked for some info on a painting of hers? Please e-mail me and I will pass on the info.

Hello Mr. Baker. I'm from the USA, and in need of your expert advice on this part of the land that you know so well. I'm in possession of a very old oil painting called, ON THE CONWAY, it is signed front and back. On the back it says...North Wales and the artists name...T.?. HUGHES.

It's not very large, but desperately need some info about this painting and the artist. You are possibly my last resort.

Any help or info would be so appreciated.

Thank You,

Nina LaQuino
Dear Mr. Baker, I have seen some of your photos taken in Wales like ones of Conway Town and the statue of my ancestor Prince Llewellyn the Great of North Wales.
Your photos look great and the info on places where they taken from also. You have been to St.Crwst`s Church in Llanrwyst where the Great's stone coffin is and taken photos? Maybe you could put photos of St. Crwst`s church and the stone coffin & Llanrwyst on your web-site? Sincerely
