August 2008 was the cloudiest it has been for many years. Pretty wet too, but on this day, we were able to enjoy a dry walk around Cwm Idwal, Wales' first Nature reserve.

Grey skies and rushing streams set the scene.

August has been rubbish weather in most of the UK in 2008.

Suzi and her friend Lisa are on their first visit to Cwm Idwal with Jean and I.

It's a fairly easy walk from the car.

Clouds obscure the mountain tops.

I like the patterns caused by the water ripples here. Cloudy, but mild with no rain.
nearly all the way round. It's about an hour and a half walk.
