Down in Cwmtydi Bay, a fresh water stream rushes
across the beach to the nearby sea. There is an
interesting story about this beach. |
 |
In World War 1, a German submarine commander took
his submarine into the cove to surface, charging his batteries and
fetching fresh water from the stream for his men. He knew the cove from
a peacetime visit. |
| Kids, just like me at that age, were playing happily
on the beach and getting their feet wet in the time honoured way. |
 |
Big kids were out in their sea kayaks.
It looked most enjoyable. But then, I'm just a big kid too. |
 |
 |
But out there, they were being watched
by a true inhabitant of the Cwmtydu waves. |
 |
 |
 |

behind Newport. It's time warpy stuff. Dr Who would appreciate the lost
decades... |
 |
| This is a beautiful garden that is now open to the
public. |

The Preseli hills beyond. |

Long horned cattle? |

and then there's Bessie's, a wonderful pub deep in
the Gwaun Valley that is a National treasure.
Say no more. |
 |
a meeting place for travellers of all kinds. |

Then, after a superb drive back to Newport over the
mountain, with fabulous views en route |

|
The following morning, I was out early.

Newport Pembs.
