Cyprus is one of those places that I have visited
many times since my first visit in 1986, sometimes for work and
sometimes for pleasure. This time it was a bit of both. I managed to
meet up with some of my regular TV clients as well as spending time with
Jean exploring some of our favourite places. We were lucky in that we
were able to stay with cousin Tim and his wife Jill in Tala, near Paphos.
April was unusual in that Cyprus was suffering from an
unusually cold start to the month. We arrived to some pretty mixed
weather. In the seven days we experienced high wind, cold nights, rain,
thunder and lightning! However, overall we had a very pleasant visit. As
always.
All pictures taken with a Canon G11.
Tim, Jill and Jean pose by their Cyprus home.
Some close ups of the flowers in their garden.
and a ladybird on a thistle!
Tala has many developments both complete
and also in part completion due to the worldwide slump and fewer Brits
buying properties.
Good time to buy, I guess.
This one isn't anywhere near finished. Sometimes they
can look like this for years.
Concrete aint pretty.
Some pics taken on my early morning walks. Two cats
are watching me closely.
Seen in a nearby garden.
We visit Polis and Latchi in one of my
favourite parts of the island. Her is Aprodite's bath.
We pose in front of her chilly bath.
I don't think I would like an eel in my bath, would
you?
One of the delightful views of the north coast.
More wild flowers.
I particularly like this one.
The locals wear bells around their necks.
Nice view, shame about the non blue skies.
Some gun bearing hunter clearly does not
like the message on this sign!
We have a nice fish lunch in the restaurant.
Naturally, we have an admirer looking for scraps.
A nice after lunch pose by Jean.
The bells continue to sound in the distance as the
goats munch on.
