There is a tiny mountain road
which branches off the B4518 (Staylittle Road) which climbs to over 500
metres above sea level before descending to Machynlleth via a giddy,
winding road. This is Dylife Gorge seen off to the right as one ascends. |
 |
Another minor road, the B4343
takes one towards Tregaron through Pontrhydfendigaid. Quite. Nice
farmhouse in idyllic setting. |
| Hard rock and soft wool. Lamb
no. 12 million. Hardly a limited edition. |
 |
Further along, there are no
houses, cars, farms or people. Just dramatic moorland scenery, Buzzards
and Red Kites and a few sheep. I don't know what the little green hut is
for, though.

Miles from anywhere, a road
junction and a phone box. Mobiles don't work here. |
 |
May has been wet hereabouts, the
streams are full. |
|
I assume these are some kind of
rocks gleaming in the sunshine.

 |
Quite a contrast to the M25,
n'est pas?

 |
A quiet enough road for me to
leave the car for a few minutes to take it's picture. |
 |
Dramatic changes in the weather
produce 'steam' from the recently drenched road. |
| This, I believe, is the River
Towy. Must be near its source. |
