Bodnant Gardens-2004

Easter 2004 and we are back in North Wales. Easter Saturday sees us once again in the Victorian extravaganza of Bodnant.

The day starts off overcast, but it's mild and dry and we can enjoy the colour of spring shrubs and flowers

Rich magenta

and red

The water features are always a great attraction.

Ah yes, the veritable smelly skunk cabbage

an insect poses for me

The serenity just oozes from the formal gardens

Reflecting on their reflections

A few minutes later, they are daring each other to jump across the feeder channel

There must be a funny caption that could be added to this picture

The main house...and one of the magnificent trees that has now grown to maturity 150 years after planting by our Victorian landscape gardeners. Bodnant Gardens are owned and run by the National Trust. Well worth a detour if you are in the area. Just a few miles south of Llandudno.
