Ed had sussed out an area of Snowdonia that he fancied called 'The Devils kitchen'. So, off we went into the mountains to a well populated car park full of like minded walkers and climbers.

This is Cwm Idwal, Wales's first Nature Reserve.

Here, just above the car, icicles were melting from some overhanging turf. One quickly crosses a rustic bridge with this appetite wetter of a view.

And the views just keep on getting better.

at the far end of the corrie (allegedly one of the best examples in the UK) is a popular spot for climbing.
Looking back over Llyn Idwal. A few shots from slightly different view points.
Occasional shafts of light transformed the scene, if only for seconds at a time!
The Devils kitchen is high in the back of this shot. Maybe next time...

A most enjoyable walk and recce for future visits.

And finally, as they say, a walk through one of Llandudno's more interesting parks: it runs up the southern edge of the Great Orme and is well shaded from the biting North wind.

a view of the Victorian grandeur of its houses.
