Skyfest- Fireworks in the Bay

On Friday May 11th 2001 Cardiff witnessed a spectacular fireworks display in the Bay to welcome some 70,000 football supporters who had travelled to Cardiff to see the F.A. Cup Final which was staged in the Millennium Stadium for the first time, Wembley being out of use pending rebuilding. Here are some pictures that I took of the event from the waterfront at Penarth Marina.

The following day dawned sunny and warm. Arsenal and Liverpool were to meet at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium for the first ever Cup Final out of England.
