A relatively easy day spent travelling north took us to Foecy.

Foecy is just south of Vierzon and a handy days drive from the channel ports. Alison and Peter made us welcome once again in their chambre d'hote. We can thoroughly recommend it. More pictures from a precious visit here.

Their web site is at: http://www.cg18.fr/commune/foecy/Loisirs.html

I took this picture because it is typical of many of the houses in this part of the upper Loire with it's roof space accessed from outside by a ladder...

This is the house of 'common man'.

...and this one because it is typical of the way that way that 'common man' can build a house of worship to his Deity.

The roof was not just a tribute to the architect of the time, but also a tribute to the quality of the lighting: which is, of course, all natural.

This is every bit as beautiful inside as out.

This is Chateauneuf sur Cher. If you are in the region, please go and experience its beauty.

A detail from the frontage of the church.

Another view of the interior. Magnificent and a tribute to all who designed, built and worshipped inside 'her'.

Deux chats.

There was a 'tasting' which Alison had suggested for a Cassis 'extraordinaire' that she thought Jean would enjoy. She did, and we brought some home.

The mere fact that we covered half of France to get there was incidental!
