Great Dixter

Great Dixter, part of which dates back to the 1450's, privately owned by the Lloyd family has some wonderfully eclectic gardens which are anything but formal. They were originally designed by Lutyens. A few words from me can only scratch the surface, so I'll hand over to the photographer as always to complete the picture.

Soon after entering, an extremely knowledgeable guide let rip into a description of the gardens. Stuff grows everywhere, even in the gutters.

In drainage outlets...

...and on the roof...

To the rear of the house, a former yeoman's house was brought here and rebuilt to be part of the whole. Clever stuff.

A few close ups...

I particularly liked the colour scheme here
