first stop: Bristol airport where we take turns to be
photographed. |
Our flight is on time and takes just over 1 hour 30
mins. |
As we climb out of Bristol, its quite
clear and sunny. |
Over most of the journey, however, it
was cloudy below. |
I think this is an engine thingy. Looks like it's had
a wee bend at the far end. |
As we descend, some of the torrential wet stuff... |
Wind forward a few hours and we've
arrived at Bergamo for our short ferry crossing to Menaggio where Tony
and Mary are waiting for us. |
within the hour, we are enjoying a
lovely meal in a restaurant near to chez Escott. |
finishing with a coffee and a delicious lemon
liqueur. |
The following morning, I'm out early taking
photographs. Nothing new there then. This is
from the balcony of our apartment. |
The distant waterfall seen through an
early morning haze. |
Our neighbour is doing some hazardous
tree pruning. |
Tony and Mary kindly give us breakfast each morning.
This is roll call! |
Still plenty of snow on the mountain tops. |
This cool customer is part of Tony's
garden furniture.
Very Roman.
She is Hebe, cup bearer to the Greek Gods. You saw it

Many of the visitors and home owners
here are German. Here's a clue! |
This lovely church is around the corner. It's bells
wake us at 0730 each day. Yes, Sunday too. |
looking down the lake towards Lugano which is, of
course, in Switzerland. |
Which happens to be our next port of
call. |
The pedalos don't look too attractive on
this cold day in March. |
