A flying visit to Milan (literally) in October to
meet the parents of Graeme's lovely partner: Francesca. Milan is a big,
busy cosmopolitan city but it has a beautiful heart, as it were. Yes,
the designer shops for those who shop, but it's the fabulous Duomo for
photographers like myself.
We spend our first morning taking in the sights on a
walking tour. This looks like an Italian Arc de Triomphe to me.
Napoleon seems to get everywhere.
Graeme, Jean and Francesca.
Going through the castle grounds we see a load of
'suits' who are, apparently, part of a political gathering.
and there's the proof.
Could this be a parking ticket being written?
Unlikely, parking seems to be a free for all in this city.
Snap!
Where shall we go next?
Lots of trams in Milan.
and quite a few 'Boris' bikes too.
and all the other typical tourist stuff,
too.
Coffee time.
Francesca with her parents: Antonio and Marie Terese.
Nearby, a Ferrari shop.
How much for that Formula 1 car in the
window mister?
The real star in Milan is Del Duomo.
we pay our 5 euros and opt for the many step climb to
the roof.
Flying Buttresses rule OK.
Looking up
Lots of work going on right at the top. But then, we
are told, it usually is.
