This is one of my favourite
Italian panoramas taken from part way up the Torre del Mangia in Siena.
It's a montage of about 6 pictures of the main square,
I did take the liberty of removing one tower crane from the horizon
which spoilt this otherwise timeless scene. |

This is the view to the south from the top of the tower,
looking out across the narrow streets into the beautiful countryside
beyond. Oh, the hot sunshine, I remember it well! |

The Cypress trees provide a kind of visual rhythm
in the beautiful Tuscan landscape. This was taken from a little road near
Siena.

 |
| This is the Val D'orcia, said to be the most
beautiful valley in Tuscany. The pic is from Montepulciano which is itself
absolutely gorgeous!

town.

| This is the view from the
balcony of a friend of mine who has retired to Cima di Porlezza in Italy.
Here we are looking across Lake Lugano. The town of Lugano is over the
border in Switzerland at the extreme right edge of frame. Lucky man! |

| Taking a boat ride down the
lake, this is the view of one of the villages at the edge of the lake. |
