July 2007. Jean and I got to North Wales for what turns out to be one of the best weeks of the year, weatherwise.

A super sunset on our first night heralds the warm sunshine to come. One of our walks was the Miners Trail which starts from the top of the pass above Llanberis.

It's the height of the tourist season, so we are not alone.

Jeans cousin Isla, John, Jean and Auntie Eileen.

A wee pocket of water by a rock. water running over a rock.

Some quartz outcrops.

some interesting colours...

People walk, run or even cycle along this popular trail. Cycling is frowned upon between 9 and 5 p.m. though.

Our first glimpse of Snowdon proper.

The remains of deserted miners cottages.

In spite of a wet summer, there isn't too much surface water in evidence. The wind blowing along this lake makes interesting patterns.

What, you may ask, is this?

Here's another clue, an expansion joint.

Yup, it's a feeder pipe for the hydro-electric power station in the valley below.

More quartz outcrops.

A small feeder stream.

Getting near the end of our little walk.

I quite like this photograph.
