view down the Dale.

Now I do remember this type of Ford from
my youth. Is it a Popular or an Anglia?

The following morning we are off to
explore. Looks like showers are about.
I do like dry stone walls; especially when made of
limestone.
Barns like this are scattered all over the Dale.
I am being watched.
We're on the way to Aysgarth now. Lunch is taken in a
pretty but very dark pub.
Water
levels are rather low, though.
an interesting pattern of roots struggling to keep
underground.
This is Wharfedale,
and we are to visit the valley of desolation which is a mission to
remember one Elsie Atkinson, in whose memory some trees were planted to
commemorate her long life. [Ed's grand mother]
It is certainly desolate, but has a special beauty
that we both appreciated.
