| Next morning, I'm up very early and out
on my bike to explore with camera. Early morning mists are a treat for
my lens. |

Shame about the con trails, but what
can a chap do? Photoshop, I suppose... |

all so exquisite, nature at it's finest. I almost
felt like an intruder on such beauty. |

Back for breakfast and to warm up, it was only a few
degrees above freezing and I wasn't equipped for cycling in such
temperatures! |
 |
Bit warmer now, so its time for walkies. |

| A few miles up the left hand side of Lake Tahoe, the
road winds and climbs, giving some great views.
Here, looking down to Ehrman Mansion built in 1903 on the edge of the
lake. |

This inlet is called Emerald Bay. All it needed was
some sunshine to bring out the clarity of the ever so pure water. |

This is a close up with my 'long' lens of part of the
last shot. The diminutive boats and their trails show the scale of the Bay. |

One of the features of our B & B was sitting around
an open fire roasting Marshmallows whilst drinking some excellent local
wine. |
| Lake Tahoe is not only very deep but
also pretty big by any standard. The shore length is about 71 miles and
it contains approximately 150 cubic kilometres. If drained, it would
take about 700 years to refill.
Below, a couple of panoramas of Lake Tahoe showing
some of its moods. It looks like two worlds but check out the mountains
top right of the first with those at the left of the bottom one. |
