Lands End. Full stop.

Why, because its there. It was a very pleasant sunny day and we  just felt that it came under the 'been there, done that' category.

It reminded me of West Wales and Pembrokeshire. Wonderful seascapes, but also trees bent by many a winter storm. Sheltered is not a word that one would use.

landsend-1.jpg (40902 bytes) One is greeted by a miscellany of hardware but it was not nearly as tacky an experience as we had feared. landsend-2.jpg (50273 bytes) This gently rusting torch was the first in a long series of beacons during the Millennium celebrations. Sponsored by British Gas.

More  essential bits of touristy paraphernalia.

landsend-3.jpg (36969 bytes) Just a little to the left, looking in the general direction of Florida more sticky out bits. Maybe that's the true Lands End. landsend-4.jpg (88409 bytes)
landsend-5.jpg (90115 bytes) Somebody's working... landsend-6.jpg (118190 bytes) Nice shapes, well worn by aeons of 'weather' thankfully absent today.
