Our cat, Tiggy, was making a last ditch attempt to
stop us going by camping on my ski stuff just hours before we were to
depart. |
She lost that battle, but is seen here settling down
in the Little Forest Cattery where she is a regular visitor. |
Graeme managed to squeeze us all into
his car with all our kit. His snowboard is on the roof. |
At Bristol Airport awaiting our Easy Jet
flight to Grenoble. |
The flight was delayed, but nobody seems to be too
upset by that. |
Finally we're boarding |
You'd think Carys had been travelling on
planes all her life. She was soon asleep. |
By the time we got to Grenoble, she was
hungry. |
We arrived mid evening at Les deux Alpes and were
pleased to see snow lying, although no fresh snow had fallen recently. |
Dawn dawned and we get our first proper
look at the mountains.
The resort is 1650 metres above sea
level. |
The nursery slopes are a short stagger away (in ski
boots, walking is not dainty, you stagger) |
Carys is fully kitted out for the bright sun and cold
air. |
At the end of day one, I took a walk around the
resort to enjoy the 'ambience'. |
Un chien qui s'apelle: Bernard? |
The following morning, I decide to carry out a
photographic recce up the mountain... First,
there's a long queue for the express lift. The views on the way up are
well worth the wait. |
