Our friends took us to see Lincolns famous
Christmas Fair, based on the Continental versions. Parking was the major
issue here; we were competing with many thousands of visitors who all wanted
to sample the 'ambience.' |
Up the only steep hill in Lincolnshire, there was no
choice other than to follow the person in front. Go with the flow. |
The Cathedral seen against a wintry December
sky. |
The crowd carried us slowly towards the
castle grounds. |
where stall holders are in festive garb for
the purpose of making a bob or two. |
Lots of bottles and mulled wine. |
Candy Floss and other sugary 'delights'. |
and some nice 'healthy' burgers |
A flare burns over one stall; a giant wheel
in the background. |
Colourful lamps |
A house window |
Plenty going on and up and round at the Fair |
A splendid traditional roundabout. |
and a big wheel. |
On our way back past the Cathedral |
against the flow of many more just arriving. |
Well, it was OK, but a bit tacky
for my taste. |
