On our second day in Melbourne, Drew's family joined us for a family Barby. It was hot and sunny too.

Drew here with his Nana who is well into her 90's. She is kindly letting Caroline and Drew stay in her house until they get a place of their own.

Caroline with her mum who, like me, was fighting jet lag.

Oh yes, and I got a ride in a Ferrari.

Lots of firsts on Day 2!

Me, Diesel the dog and Caroline.

I don't normally 'do' dogs but Diesel was quite easy to cope with.

We also met Jamie, seen here wearing his ancestral colours. The three of them were off to a wedding. another day and we were taken to a Sunday morning market somewhere the other side of the city.

Some random people snaps.

I guess this was a tree which had the dual purpose of being a telegraph pole.
I did quite a bit of cycling whilst resident at Box Hill; the bike/pedestrian paths were amazing: quite the best urban cycling I have ever experienced.

I was, however, quite disappointed not to see a single snake in our entire holiday.

All these shots taken from the trail. there are many Kilometres of these all linking up to other trails. Fab!

Room for a few shots of some transport of various kinds seen in town.

Here on the right, the bike trail takes me some 20K's towards the city centre past the river Yarra, Melbourne's main outlet to the sea.
We had an excellent outing to Healesville: a Wild life Sanctuary, about an hours drive north of Melbourne.
