Across the road from Beacon Hill, it's down into Boston Common with its Frog Pond (now frogless, I believe)

The public Garden was America's first botanical garden.

Mrs Mallard and her eight bronze ducklings are a very popular sculpture which is a tribute to Robert McCloskeys book: Make way for Ducklings.

A very New English kind of Bandstand, dare I say.

Another glimpse of that fabulous dome before we dive underground to take the metro to Cambridge and Harvard, one of the worlds top universities.

We took a walk through the serene grounds of Harvard yard hoping that some of the learning might brush off on as as we passed.

The white spire is that of the Memorial Church.

This is the corner of the hugely impressive Widener library.

Some very posh brickwork here.

Some cheer girl training was going on here. I have to admit, I didn't know they were trained as such.

The late afternoon sun casts long shadows.

We walked down to the Charles river. This was the view back towards town (Boston)

Waiting for the metro, I was bemused to see people crossing the track as and when they wished.

The Holocaust monument looks even more special when seen after dark.

Six million randomly generated numbers are etched into the glass to represent the six million Jews who were exterminated under the Nazi Regime.

Not sure who this gentleman is/was. Clearly someone of great stature.
So, another nice seafood meal and then off for an early bed before our first days driving into the great unknown. Deepest coastal Maine!
