Our stay in Yuyao was pretty sumptious. Our hosts were treating us like kings, with banquets twice a day plus a full 5 star breakfast. So why did I lose weight? probably for the same reason that I didn't see any fat people in China. The diet is full of protein with little fat or carbohydrate. Not to everybody's taste though. Snails, lots of fish, prawns, turtle, birds nest soup and interesting creatures of the deep that were still wriggling as they were brought to the table.

Meanwhile, here is one of the Pagodas near the entrance to the Zoo. Spring blossom and distant apartments. No greyness of an oppressive regime here.

My pre conceptions were quite wrong.

Texting in the park. Could be any western city.

Well, China wouldn't be China without the odd dragon, now would it.

Something in common with Wales...

...and some other strange beasties under the water feature here.

A colourful floral display

and a collection of Bonsai type trees
Caretakers tool store, perhaps? Even the toilets tell you exactly where we are.

The small zoo had some pretty sad characters in cages which were not exactly spacious.

I think both theses specimens would rather have been elsewhere.

A pair of superb door handles spotted in the zoo.

Secure...

a view of the city and the hills beyond.
The signs are tourist friendly which is good news for the likes of myself
A group of gentlemen gathered for a chat. These were the lasers which played the night sky that I had seen the previous night.
