Our walk takes us to Penmark and around the edge of Cardiff airport.

As we enter the village, the odd burst of colour... ...and an interesting seat in a strip of what looks like a child's adventure garden.

The six Bells at Penmark has a reputation for good food. Jean and I have eaten there many times in the past, although not recently.

Victoria Regina. A splash of colour that is part of the character of a British village.

It's had a few coats of paint since Victoria was on the throne.

A little courting going on here, I think.

Bluebells are just coming out. The native British version has largely been displaced by the European bigger variety.

I liked the natural framing provided for this style.

We occasionally lost our way by missing a style. This was one such occasion.

I loved the amber colouring of these new leaves. No mistaking where we are, then.

Mostly, the signs were quite clear on direction, but not all the time.

We thought that some of the directions on our guide sheet were ambiguous.

The route was always pretty and peaceful thugh.

These fields were right by the end of the runway. No, we weren't interested in scaling the security fences.

Approaching midday...

as we cross the centre line of the runway approach lights.

Not much wind to blow the windsock. Peacock butterfly.

Celandines galore

Pause for a photo.
