Later in the year, things get more flamboyant.

Is this a crow or a Raven or neither?

Kayucian e-mailed me with this: 'The bird in your photo is a Eurasian jackdaw - Corvus  monedula

This bird is indeed a member of the Raven tribe 'Corvidae', which includes - crows, ravens, rooks, jackdaws, magpies, treepies, piapiacs, choughs, nutcrackers, and jays - I think that's all of them!

Regards,
Kayucian'

This caterpillar was one of the biggest I have ever seen; about four inches in length.

This 'little' chap was sitting on a window so gave me time to get in close and use a large F no to get sufficient depth of field. A small moth (1 cm approx)
