Interesting fungi and forest floor vegetation

Temperate forests have an annual rainfall of between 80 and two hundred inches a year.

And I thought the 36 or so inches of the west of the UK was a lot.

It did rain for a while, but that didn't detract from the scenery.

Smile please...

This was the trail to Lady Falls.

And these are they:

Lunch was in Gold River, a nice little town with a characterful cafe, then back to Campbell river.

There's usually a timber processing plant near settlements in this part of the world. As a real bonus, I got this photograph of a bald headed eagle just north of Campbell river.

 

Next it is off to the Pacific Rim National Park and a place called Ucluelet. On our way we take a steep climb up Mt Washington.
