In the nearby village of Penllyne, there is a well, actually
three wells, which for years had become badly overgrown and neglected.
local people have spent much time and money in beautifully restoring them
to their former glory.
Each year, Penllyne has a boule or Petanque
competition in high summer between themselves and the neighbouring village.
These windmills are on the
northern extremity of the Vale, just beyond the M4 at Llanharry
Towards Penllyne Castle can be
seen Witches Hill. It is very steep, very shadowy and a bit spooky.
Autumn
A couple of local sunsets.
Here are some 'still life' subjects that I 'caught'
a few years ago on my Fuji camera whilst out on my bike. The intense, low, winter sun revealed
the texture of these pieces of wood in a very damp, mossy piece of
woodland at the edge of Hensol forest.
Winter
Just occasionally we get a little snow. Then I rush around
with my camera before it all goes! This is near St Hilary.
more sheep, more frost and cold. This time,
just off the track that runs southwards from St. Hilary.
Hensol Lake in Hensol
forest often features in my cycle forays. The lake is hidden from view
and is a haven of peace for wild life and the fishermen who know of its
existence.
