Silver Lake, tranquil and inviting. |
 |
Back down the road to the other end of the lake where
we take a picnic in the sunshine and watch the holiday makers. |
|
Wearing fetching life jackets Jean and I
decide to take a row on the lake. |
 |
Well, to be more accurate, I row and Jean enjoys the
view. (She did offer!!) |
 |
 |
We are not alone. |
 |
Afterwards, we enjoy a beer in the North Fork micro
brewery. Very tasty too. |
|
Dry Stout and American wheat beer
feature on the beer menu. |
 |
Sadly, it's time to head for home. Two
and a half hours later, we are in Canada and approaching the Queen
Elisabeth Park in Vancouver.
Caroline leaves us with her rucksack and jumps on a
bus to take her back to Whistler.
We have some time to spare and take a quick look
around the park. |

 |
 |
I remember this statue well from our
previous visit.
'The Photographer'. |
 |
'The Photographer' is joined by a group of
'snappers'. |
 |
I thought that this was quite charming, a small girl
enjoying the fountains. |
 |
My last shot of Jean and Caroline before
she returns to Whistler, her boyfriend and her future travels. (Central
and South America)
We met up with a friend of mine who
works on cruise liners around the world as Lighting Designer, David
Horne for a coffee at the airport. But then, baggage checked in, it's
all over bar the travelling home.
Our carrier was MyTravel about to be
merged with Thomas Cook at the time of writing) which was fine.
Gatwick was not fine, but that's another
story. |
 |
| Another action packed trip, 16 days in
which we saw so much, did so much and met many interesting people.
Thanks to all our hosts, Doug and Barbara, Bev and
Cary in particular.
I can really recommend the Bed and Breakfast way of
accommodation in North America. It's so much more personal than staying
in hotels or motels. I picked all of ours and booked them via the
internet. |
