As we return to the car, a rare sighting (for me) of a lizard basking on the warm rock.

Onward to Ogmore via the outskirts of Porthcawl.

The Pelican (pub) at Ogmore is a great example of a British pub. Food and beer are both excellent here.

A pint of 'Abbott' and a Welsh Black Beef baguette.

A short stroll away are the famous stepping stones alongside the ruined castle.

All very tranquil. The best of British countryside and a day in early June.
