Three months have elapsed since I last climbed Pen y Fan and I was having withdrawal symptoms! OK, a bit sad, but a bright, cold, sunny day got me back on that well walked track to the summit by 1015 am (just after the clocks had gone forward to summer time)

It was a lovely clear day...

I've taken many pictures on the way up before, so I only started snapping at the summit. If you look closely at this foreground outcrop, you can see a small icicle hiding out of the sun! and some distant walkers seen through my long (650mm) lens.

Once again, on the north side of the mountain the sun doesn't get much of a chance to melt the frost.

A young boy attempts to place a stone on the summit cairn.

There's that icicle again. I have been told that this dog is carrying its own supplies of food and drink for the walk.

A bit like us humans I suppose...

More icy grass.

This wee corrie is called Llyn Cwm Llwch.

So then it was time to go down once more from the dizzy heights and start thinking about the next ascent; and should I include Cribyn.
