Rocamadour is one of the two most visited sites in France. Allegedly.

Mont St. Michel is the other. Unfortunately, visiting such places has the downside of being surrounded by many other members of the human race and additionally you will run the gauntlet of many tacky shops and eating places.

Lots of ways of sucking euros out of your pocket. Full stop. having said that, Rocamadour is pretty special and best viewed form a distance!

So, having said that, the road in question is a tiny road that approaches Rocamadour from the south and a village called Couzou.

Once parked (free) we decided to let the train take the strain...

Once inside, it's a case of looking up...

Until, to much yelling, shouting and singing, we witnessed hundreds of young cyclists who took over the narrow streets.

It seemed to be the finale of some kind of pilgrimage because they all carried their bikes up the many steps into the church. All very strange...

Handheld at the ISO 1600 setting.

I liked the way the two rows of candles fit in the frame.
