Seattle

Seattle is a medium sized city (in my terms) of two and a half million people.

It has a monorail link between downtown and the Space needle, a 184 metre tower built in 1962 for the world fair.

This water feature looked like a nice way of cooling off on a hot day like that day.

Wouldn't have done the camera much good, though.

Pike Place market is one of the cities main attractions.
The seafood really does look good. Not much use to us today in a Rental car and outside temperatures of 31C.

Now I thought corned beef came in a tin...

Jean getting a free smoked salmon tasting.
Kids on a bronze pig. there must be a story there.

A young girl with a pet duck? Am I back in Port Townsend through some kind of time warp?

This is the worlds oldest Starbucks apparently.

Some more random shots of downtown Seattle.

On the monorail train to see the space needle.

Built in the same year I started work at the BBC, 1962.
