Stonehouse, near Stroud: The Cotswolds
| The Cotswolds are pretty unique. They are
just the other side of the Severn Bridge (which one, there are now two) and
I love them to bits. At the moment, I am just putting in a couple of pics I
took the other day when I had a flying visit to Stonehouse to visit a client
in connection with my Concorde pictures.
Not too far from Stonehouse, just a few
miles off the M5 |

Alongside the River Frome is a canal, a
gentle sort of stretch of water with the odd recumbent boat. As I took these
pictures, the traffic roared by along the road just a few yards away. One of
the problems of living in the UK is that we all relish the 'good old days'
of a quieter more peaceful life that we believed our forebears to have.
Sadly, it don't exist any more! Well, we
photographers can sometimes turn our back on today and look at yesterday.
Here is a peaceful stretch of a canal
untroubled by 21st century hassle. |

I'll bet this boat, for instance, can tell a
few stories |

 |
a little later, I'm up on the hills nearby
sharing the view with some other photographers. |

On a completely separate occasion, this is a
lovely pub that I enjoyed near the village of Coombe, near Bath. Just
thought I'd share this with you. |

Roll on summer! |
