The Baker Dynasty

Just a tad pretentious, but there we are. In the beginning, like most people, I was born.

June 9th 1944, just as brave men were about to execute the most audacious invasion in recent history, the D Day landings. It was many years before I actually went to France with my two sons, it was quite moving to see the remains of the famous floating concrete caissons that now lay off shore those French beaches that claimed so many allied lives. We walked around the huge cliff top fortifications that the Germans had built, saw the remains of the huge guns that had threatened the approaches of 'our boys'. Sobering moments to my sons and I.

I don't have such comprehensive records of my family as I would like, maybe one day I'll get into Genealogy! In the meantime, for anyone who is still reading this, here is a photographic trip down the Baker memory lane...
