We were quite near the tourist bit (Fishermans Wharf)
but also near the steepest street in San Fran: Lombard Street. It's a
major tourist draw but is beautifully landscaped into the bargain.
Here comes the first (of many) car of the

Elegant living hereabouts.
Always the fire escapes are in evidence
in this city. The great earthquake of 1906 made sure of that.

park your Porsche.
The much loved cable cars of San Fran.
The top of yonder building (Transamerica
Pyramid) lost in the early morning mist.
The edge of Chinatown; biggest one outside
of China.
That's the 'other' bridge: The Oakland
Bridge. A dual carriageway of an interesting kind.
some of the old piers are getting past their sell by
date.
They end up being used as
car parks.
Lots of piers here, but 29 and a half?
Cable car approaching the terminus near
our hotel (and Pat's Cafe)
More sights of San Fran...
Today, we are lucky, the bridge is clear of mist.
