Trees at Night
| Each year, in late Autumn, Westonbirt Arboretum
near Tetbury in Gloucestershire, lights up part of their Arboretum with a large
number of Par Cans and various other light fittings. We went along to check it
out. Thousands of like minded souls were there, but apart from a 40 minute queue
to get in, that didn't really detract from what was clearly an interesting
experience of lighting interpretation. Some of it I liked a lot, some I would
have done very differently, but then, that's lighting! Here are some digipics
that I took on a Fuji 4700 camera. Most were 1/4 sec at f2.8 (on a tripod). Click to enlarge, then

In 2003, Dyffryn
Gardens near Cardiff in South Wales has also gone in for the 'lit up'
look.

This one was interesting in that I used a long exposure, 3
secs, which shows up the real moon. My previous digital camera didn't have
this facility. |

A bit 'in your face' this one. More than two colours (and or
white) is a No No for me. |
