The Flume was, I'm told, discovered by a
73 year old housewife seeking out new trout streams! It is a 700 foot long
mini canyon in a natural gorge with granite walls rising to 70 feet above
the intrepid photographer. Not easy to accommodate the wide exposure range
presented to the camera lens, but I offer a couple of shots just to give you
the flavour.
It initially rushes over attractive wide exposed rocks
Its quite a long walk but there are sturdy
walkways when the going would have been rough to impossible!
I loved the way the light caught the water.
This wee beastie was happy to pose for the masses.
The Flume was duly completed, we continued
over the top of the 3000 foot pass and around past the Cog Railway station
back to North Conway.
